This Privacy Policy explains how ProjectHub Pvt. Ltd. ("ProjectHub", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores and otherwise processes personal data when you use ProjectHub. Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and applicable rules apply, ProjectHub acts as the relevant Data Fiduciary for personal data it processes for its own purposes. Mandatory legal rights and obligations prevail where they differ.

2. Personal data we collect

Account and profile data: email address, display name, username, profile name, avatar, verification information and account preferences.

Authentication data: information associated with supported sign-in providers such as Google or GitHub. ProjectHub does not receive or store your Google or GitHub password through the platform.

Project data: project names, descriptions, taglines, categories, logos, preview images, websites, GitHub URLs, social links and ownership-verification evidence.

Community and engagement data: posts, replies, comments, upvotes, follows, notifications, reports and related moderation or interaction records.

Promotion and auction data: promotion selections, auction bids, auction outcomes, placement information and related account activity.

Payment data: transaction amount, currency, provider, Razorpay order ID, Razorpay payment ID, payment status and related reconciliation records. Raw card credentials are handled by the payment provider rather than stored by ProjectHub as part of the normal payment flow.

Newsletter data: email address, subscription status, confirmation information, unsubscribe state and related delivery records.

Usage and security data: IP address or derived rate-limiting information, visitor identifiers, project-view and click events, timestamps and security or diagnostic information needed to protect the service.

3. How we use personal data

We use personal data to create and secure accounts; publish and manage projects; verify ownership; operate community features; process promotions, auctions and payments; send requested transactional or newsletter communications; provide support; measure and improve the service where optional analytics are enabled; detect fraud and abuse; enforce our Terms; maintain records; and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal grounds and consent

Depending on the activity and applicable law, ProjectHub may process personal data based on consent, to provide a service you request, for permitted lawful purposes, for security and fraud prevention, or to comply with legal obligations. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it through available controls or by contacting us, subject to any processing that the law permits or requires us to continue.

5. Cookies and analytics

ProjectHub uses essential technologies for authentication, security, consent preferences and core functionality. Optional analytics are activated only after analytics consent. The current site uses ph_cookie_consent to remember choices and ph_visitor_id for returning-visitor measurement when analytics consent is enabled. Project view tracking is also gated on analytics consent. See the Cookie Policy for details.

6. Service providers

Depending on the feature, ProjectHub may use Supabase for database and authentication infrastructure, Vercel for application hosting and delivery, Razorpay for payment processing, and Resend for newsletter email delivery and subscription management. These providers may process data under their own legal and security obligations.

7. International processing

Because ProjectHub uses cloud infrastructure and third-party providers, personal data may be processed or stored in jurisdictions outside India. We will take steps required by applicable law for such processing and use providers and arrangements appropriate to the services involved.

8. Public information

Information you choose to publish may become publicly visible, including project descriptions, project links, creator names or usernames, published comments, community posts and certain profile information. Do not publish personal or confidential information that you do not want publicly accessible.

9. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including account operation, security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, legal compliance and financial or tax recordkeeping. Published content, transaction records or suppression records may need to be retained longer where required for these purposes.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and risks involved, including access controls, authentication controls, service-side security measures, rate limiting and payment-signature verification. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to request information about personal data we process, seek correction or updating of inaccurate information, request erasure where applicable, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and raise a grievance. You may manage optional analytics and marketing preferences through ProjectHub's Cookie settings control.

To exercise a privacy right or raise a grievance, email contact.projecthub.app@gmail.com with enough information for us to identify the relevant account or request. We may verify your identity before completing a request.

12. Children's data

ProjectHub is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us improperly, contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

13. Third-party websites

ProjectHub contains links to creator websites, GitHub repositories, payment-provider pages and other third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, legal obligations, vendors or data practices change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
